The Comfort Question

What is the seat really like for a larger traveller? Every review we publish answers it, shoulders included.

Seat width is half the story. Shoulders are the other half. Airlines publish the width between the armrests and the length of the bed, and almost never say how much room there is across the top. That gap is where a seat that looks fine on paper stops being fine at 3am.

So every review measures the seat against the airline's own published figures, then says what each one means for a larger frame: the shoulders, the armrest, the seat belt, the footwell and the bed. Where an airline publishes nothing, we say so, and the observation from the seat stands on its own.

The three verdicts

  • Comfortable: room to spare for a larger frame.
  • Workable: fine, with the right seat choice. The review says which.
  • Tight: think twice before booking.

We write for larger travellers, never about them, and never apologise for them. Every body deserves a comfortable seat.
